I am Eleanor D. J. Ellis (known as Jane), a Chartered Counselling Psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society, the British Association of Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists and the Health and Care Professions Council.
Qualified since 2004, I have recently been working in private practice providing therapy and supervision. When I left the NHS in 2018, I had been leading a primary care mental health service delivering Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for people experiencing anxiety and depression who self-refer or are referred by their GP. I have also worked with people with more complex and enduring problems referred by the Community Mental Health Team. The earlier part of my career was spent working with adults with learning disabilities, carrying out assessments and providing therapy for those experiencing mental health problems, eventually leading the psychology team.
I have experience of providing Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Family Therapy and Person-Centred Counselling.
